Hit List of Big, Potentially Divisive Issues
If you know of big divisive topics, please add them to the "hit list" but...could I add....this may NOT be the best time with USD a month away to vent your opinion on them. All of these have been up in the air for a year, and waiting at least until March will not cause any babies to die. Let's just keep notes...
- Players as Writers, Writers as Players, etc. etc. etc....
- Who ultimately is a "Staff" person who can determine their own tracks and who has to accept being put into whatever tracks they are put into. How does that work anyway.
- How do we handle places where some GMs want to write storylines but players also feel ownership (the recent Rising Sun issues come to mind). This links to (1) in some ways.
- How do we handle the issues of "Empire Building" and "Mollusking" in a staff where most people have strong friendships. And other issues of an all-volunteer staff.
- How to have "High Level" arcs, without having "super GMs"
- Shiny, happy gumdrop plots versus gritty and Realpolitick plots. What balance should there be as clearly different players like different plots?
- Level setting and expectation setting for players
Addressed Issues
- How do we handle writers wanting to enter the political sphere with a major power, and decide issues between player-patroned major powers. (Addressed by requirement that New Threads over certain SPEM value must be proposed to the Writers List).
